3D printed foods

We have heard of printing words. But, printing food is a rather amusing and unthinkable idea. This idea has been realized in the recent years. Nowadays, it is the latest trend to print foods like pizzas and doughnuts, chocolate, sweets, or even real meals. It uses printer much like a FDM printer that literally draws the 3D food using food in the form of pastes into molds. It cannot be used for cooking food however. It uses ingredients like insects, algae, beet leaves or insects into tasty food products. 3D printing was initially designed by NASA in 2006 with the objective of proving best food for the team of astronauts for longer missions. 3D printing allows you to choose your own ingredients in a specific food like pizza. It allows you to create more effective recipes from insects that people are mostly reluctant to eat as they are rich in proteins. The appearance of food affects the acceptability and taste of food and so it is important that the food looks appealing. 3D printing ensures that colour, texture is suitable for customer acceptance. Although the pizza made with 3D printing is available, it has to be separately cooked after printing.
