B-vitamin deficiencies are also a concern among this group, especially vitamin B12, which is a problem now documented in several countries, particularly among those who do not eat meat and other animal products, such as Lacto-ovo vegetarians and those on restricted meat intakes for access, economic, and/or cultural reasons. To target this group population, Guires FRL partners with food manufacturing companies to develop products fortified with Vitamin B12. The deficiency of folate is also a concern due to the relation to neural tube defects. This can be prevented at intake of 400 µg daily through food, natural or fortification, of flour /or supplements. Our formulation experts ensure to achieve wholistic formulations such as carrot for vitamin A and vitamin C adequacy through oranges better sensory and shelf life.

Working women undergo various pressure both from work and family environments. Any ingredient incorporated into the formulation needs to achieve its intended function in the human body at the same time and must adhere to safety, product purity (i.e., clean label), and developmental appropriateness.
