Definition of Commercial Formula
A beverage formulation that is ready for production is referred to in the industry as a commercial formula. Commercializing your beverage recipe gives contract manufacturers the information they need to scale up and make your beverage in a reliable, safe, and efficient way. These are recipes that are prepared commercially and are created by industry. They can be supplied as powder or as liquids with different viscosities. Formulas that are made commercially are always sterile. Typically, they fit into one of the following groups: Polymeric formulas, Oligomeric and monomeric diets, Special formulas (disease specific), and Modular diets. 1
